Times:As arranged between caller and participant
Hours:Calls will be individual but might run five to fifteen minutes
DRIVERS (On-call)
Duties:To give rides to thosein our community who are without transportation and need occasional trips to appointments.
Work environment:Your car, pick-up and drop-off locations
Qualifications/skills:Good driving and criminal records background; comfortable with wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and those using them; patience; good communication skills; good listener. No lifting required, wheelchairs, etc.
Job training provided:Yes
Times:Two to three times per month. You may choose a day or be on call.
Hours:Each need is unique. Usually one to two and a half hours.
“GOOD MORNING” ASSOCIATE
Duties:To check on our Good Morning callers at 9:30 in the morning, follow procedures if they have not called in, and note all calls and actions taken. A short but important position.
Work environment:An office with phone located at the Brunswick Police Department
Qualifications/skills:Good verbal and hearing skills, friendly and confidential, and comfortable working alone but down the hall from others
Job training provided:Yes
Times:Every other week, monthly, or on call
Hours:9:30 a.m. to 10:15

School-based mentor - You will be matched with a student at a local school
to plan activities that interest you both. You must have transportation, enjoy and be able to walk around with 6 to 13 year olds, and be available one hour a week for the school year. Please call Big Brothers/Big Sisters at 729-7736.
VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
To help coordinate volunteers to work with special town programs, interact with downtown shops and organizations, work on the second floor, and be available 2 hours per week. Please contactRichard Nimrowat theDowntown Association at 833-6860.
