The AARP Income tax assistance program is provided for those who would like help completing their income tax forms. Appointments for February through mid-April are accepted beginning the end of January. All volunteers are professionals in the field.

The Good Morning Brunswick and Harpswell Program is a daily safety check-in program created by People Plus and twenty-two other agencies. It is managed by People Plus and physically located at the Brunswick Police Department. This program is available to older adults or the disabled in Brunswick or Harpswell. It enables those who have registered to call in by phone seven mornings a week from the time they wake up until 9:30 a.m. to say they are O.K.

The Good Morning Program is ideal for those who live alone and are concerned about their wellbeing. It is also ideal for those who have recently returned from the hospital or rehabilitation facility. Family and friends often refer prospective participants to the Good Morning Program. The Good Morning Program stands alone or works well with the Lifeline program (373-3635).

The On The Go transportation program provides local rides for medical appointments. This program is available up to three times per month to those who can no longer drive. (Occasionally emergency or special arrangements may be made.) An advanced notice of seventy-two hours or three business days is requested for all needed rides. All volunteer drivers receive training and background and license checks.

Outreach staff, volunteers, and Social Work Interns maintain the Outreach Connections. These contacts are usually initiated through calls from concerned family members, other agencies, friends, People plus members, or members of our community with questions, needs, or interest in establishing a connection. These connections provide regular of occasional contacts offering referrals, home visits, encouragement for socialization or program attendance, and information.
