Stephanie was born and raised in Bath Maine, graduating from Morse High School in 1963, and the University of Southern Maine in 1967.
In 1966 she married and she and her husband moved to the Rochester New York area where they lived and raised three daughters. While in Rochester, Stephanie received a Master of Arts degree in Theology from St. Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry in 1981.
She was involved in parish ministry from 1981 until 1991 at Assumption of Our Lady Church in Fairport, NY as the Adult Faith Formation Coordinator. It was at that time that she began to minister as Spiritual Director.
Stephanie took a few years off to help her daughter with her education, as her youngest daughter had significant learning difficulties that required daily attention.
In 2003 she began work for the Sisters of St. Joseph Spirituality Center in Rochester, NY. It was at that time that she began a ministry of presenting retreats. She worked retreats often at St. Columban’s Diocesan Retreat Center in Derby NY, part of the Diocese of Buffalo, NY. She also presented a week-long retreat at the SSJ Motherhouse in Rochester as well as at several other locations.
In 2007, she and her husband moved back to Bath, Maine. Since that move, she became a Notary Public in order to perform wedding ceremonies, does spiritual direction in her home office, presides at some burial services for Desmond Funeral Home in Bath, and volunteers as a Spiritual Care Volunteer at Mid-Coast Hospital under the direction of Rev. Gordon Cook. She also facilitates a Scripture Reflection Group in All Saints Parish.
Her hobbies include reading, sewing, crocheting, and jewelry making. Her family especially enjoys her Christmas baking and candy-making.
